To run RAP applications from sources, please follow these steps:

  1. Download and unzip this file – http://download.xored.com/q7/experimental/rap-runtime-1.5.0-M5-q7-runtime-1.2.0-M3.zip
  2. Create new empty target platform and add new directory location pointing to extracted folder
  3. Set this target platform as default
  4. In RAP launch configuration on Bundles tab select all bundles from target platform
  5. On Bundles tab, find org.eclipse.equinox.weaving.aspectj bundle and set start level to 1 and auto-start to true
  6. On Arguments tab add following extra VM args: -DteslaPort=7926 -DeclPort=5378 -Dosgi.framework.extensions=org.eclipse.equinox.weaving.hook
  7. Launch RAP application and open it in browser 
Next, you can use Q7 professional 1.2.0-M3 to connect to the application:
  1. Open Q7
  2. Go to Run-> Run Configurations and create new Remote Application Under Test
  3. Launch it
  4. Click Record Snippet on Q7 toolbar, Q7 will switch into recording mode
  5. Now you can record and replay your actions in application
